Producing palm oil in a sustainable way is not a challenge just facing plantation companies. NBPOL was one of the world's first company therefore, to include smallholders (more than 8000 in fact) within the scope of our RSPO certification. We think this is the responsible thing to do and that means that our sustainable palm oil is also their sustainable palm oil.
We're also keen to expand our production in a responsible way – by rehabilitating abandoned estates, by improving the yields of underperforming areas, and by planting on grasslands. We have made a public commitment to not plant on peat.
We have a uniquely traceable and competitive supply chain. Our oils can be traced all the way back to the operations of our parent company, NBPOL, in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. This traceability can be offered at no extra cost to our customers. We think that traceability is important as it is the ONLY way for you to know where your palm oil has come from and that it was produced to the highest environmental and ethical standards.
We ONLY refine sustainable palm oil that has been independently certified against the standard defined by the RSPO The Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil. The RSPO is a multi-stakeholder organisation established to promote environmentally sensitive, socially ethical and economically viable palm oil cultivation and use. Our oil comes from our own plantations which were among the first to be certified to the RSPO standard
